The Czech Audiovisual Fund pays a 25% cash rebate on eligible costs for feature films, documentaries, and fiction TV series. Animated and digitally produced projects with no live-action shooting in the Czech Republic qualify for an elevated 35% rate.
When will I receive the cash rebate?
The rebate is paid after settlement of the audited eligible costs. You apply for payment within three years of the Decision on Filing, and payment follows the cost audit.
Is there a cap on the rebate amount?
Yes. The eligible-cost basis is capped at CZK 450 million per project (approximately €18 million) — tripled under the 2025 Audiovisual Act — and is limited to a maximum of 80% of the total budget.
Do I need a Czech production company?
