Prague's mature gear ecosystem, the backbone of the 'Hollywood of the East', supports large-scale RF builds with dozens of channels across multiple departments, the kind of coordination routine on the Barrandov stages and on location across Prague, Brno and Karlovy Vary.

Here is the short of it. Our team runs an RF survey of each site, designs an integrated solution and tests every link before the shooting day. For specialty wireless hardware not held in-country, kit moves freely by road from Germany and Austria within the EU single market and Schengen, with no carnet needed for EU transport.

Here is the breakdown. Every wireless link on a Czech production sits within EU-harmonised UHF range covered by the Czech Telecommunication Office (CTU). This allocates frequencies for wireless microphones, IFB, comms and video links. We scan each location, identify clean frequencies within legal range and document the channel plan so audio, video and lens-control systems operate without trouble. Where productions also fly drones for aerial links, those operations fall under the Civil Aviation Authority (Urad pro civilni letectvi / UCL) and EU/EASA rules.

Here is what that looks like on the ground. The land-based climate shapes RF logistics: cold, snowy winters shorten battery life across transmitters and beltpacks, so crews manage spare-cell rotation.
