Colorist Services

Here is how this works in practice. We supply colorists who handle the digital intermediate and final grade for shoots finishing in the Czech Republic. Our colorists work in set up Prague grading suites — including facilities linked to UPP (Universal Production Partners), the city's top post house — and grade across DaVinci Resolve and Baselight pipelines. They work with the director and director of photography to set a look in prep, manage on-set LUTs with the DIT, and carry that intent through to a calibrated final grade in HDR and SDR deliverables.

Here is the short of it. Czech colorists are skilled with the demands of global episodic and feature finishing: shot matching across many units, conform against edit, VFX integration, and delivery to TV networks and streamer specs. They work fluently in English and set up remote review sessions for shoots whose creative team is based abroad.

Here is the breakdown. The Czech Republic's post-prod strength grew alongside its production boom. The same Hollywood and European projects that shot at Barrandov Studios also needed finishing capacity, and Prague built it. UPP and other houses have delivered post and VFX for global features and series. The city's facilities are calibrated to today's colour-management and HDR standards. The country's wider creative heritage — from the FAMU film school founded in 1946 to a long animation custom — underpins a skilled, detail-oriented post-prod workforce.

Here is what that looks like on the ground. Productions that complete their grade in the Czech Republic can have that spend in the Czech Film Fund's 20% cash rebates, making local finishing both creatively credible and cost-good. Our colorists help plan the post schedule so the grade aligns with VFX, sound and final delivery.
