Location Agreements

Here is how this works in practice. We negotiate and document the agreements that give a production lawful, conditional access to its locations. Our team identifies the rights holder for each site — a private owner, a firm, a heritage administrator or a city — and negotiates terms covering access dates and hours, fees, what the production may do on site, restoration and making-good, liability and insurance needs, and use of the resulting footage. Agreements are drafted under Czech law in Czech koruna.

Here is the short of it. We make sure they sit always alongside the filming permits the same location may also need. For Prague's historic centre and covered heritage sites, location agreements carry real conservation conditions, and we capture those clearly so the production and the owner share the same knowing.

Here is the breakdown. The Czech Republic gives a top range of locations to contract. Prague's medieval, baroque and art-nouveau cityscape, castles such as Karlštejn, Konopiště, Loket and Hluboká, the historic centres of Český Krumlov and Telč, the spa town of Karlovy Vary and the landscapes of the Bohemian Switzerland National Park. Many of the most desirable sites are UNESCO-listed or state-covered. The country has 17 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, one of Europe's highest counts. Agreements for these sites must respect their covered status. Heritage administrators expect shoots to commit clearly to conservation. We handle those negotiations with the care they need.
