Marine & Wildlife Filming

Nature documentary production throughout Czech Republic.

As a landlocked country, Czech wildlife filming focuses on freshwater and forest ecosystems rather than marine work. Productions can capture red deer in the deep forests of Šumava, wild boar across Bohemian woodlands, European bison in dedicated preserves and white storks nesting across South Moravia. River shoots along the Vltava, Elbe and South Bohemian pond systems bring otters, beavers, kingfishers and freshwater fish into focus.

We connect you with experienced Czech wildlife cinematographers and coordinate permits through national park authorities and the State Navigation Administration. Our team handles location logistics for Šumava, Krkonoše, Bohemian Switzerland and the Moravian Karst, river boat charters on the Vltava and Elbe, and access to protected wetland and pond reserves so your crew can focus on filming.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you film marine wildlife in the Czech Republic?

The Czech Republic is landlocked, so we focus instead on freshwater and forest ecosystems. The Vltava and Elbe rivers, the South Bohemian pond systems and the lakes of the Bohemian Switzerland region offer excellent locations for filming otters, beavers, kingfishers, freshwater fish and aquatic invertebrates. Underwater work in clear river pools and karst springs is also possible.

What wildlife is available in the Czech Republic?

Czech forests host red deer, wild boar, European lynx in remoter regions and even European bison in dedicated reserves. White storks nest across South Moravia each summer; raptors and woodpeckers are common in Šumava and Krkonoše; and the Moravian Karst supports unique cave fauna and bat colonies.

Do you have specialized wildlife crews?

Yes, we work with experienced Czech wildlife cinematographers who know the national parks, river systems and forest ecosystems intimately. Many have credits with European broadcast natural history teams.

What about permits for protected species and parks?

Filming inside Šumava, Krkonoše, Bohemian Switzerland and other national parks requires authorisation from the park administration plus coordination with the National Heritage Institute. River filming permits go through the State Navigation Administration and local water management authorities. Lead times of 2-4 weeks are typical.

Can you provide underwater filming?

Yes, we offer professional freshwater underwater cinematography with RED, ARRI and Sony cameras in housings. Our divers are experienced in clear river pools, karst springs, lakes and ponds, and work safely with cold-water freshwater species.

What's the best season for wildlife filming in the Czech Republic?

Red deer rutting peaks in September; white stork colonies are active April through August; bird migration is strongest in spring and autumn; and winter offers atmospheric forest scenes with tracks in snow. We advise on the best window for each species.
